What a scary nerve wrecking Day
by troubled mind inmy son's girlfriends mom has an abusive boyfriend .
today he has had her hostage by gun point all morning .. just now the police got her out to safety .. during the ordeal he called my son and made drunken threats to him too .. i am a nervous wreck .
the police has the whole downtown evacuated and on close down until the issue is resolved .

All I can say is "WOW"
by lepermessiah ini love those life-changing books that you read and they seem to come at the right time and really touch you deeply.. most of you have read crisis of conscience, but the beginning of chapter 11 just blew me away......unbelievable......... ray is such a gifted writer, the sincerity just oozes off the pages, and even people that treated him like garbage, he still has a kind and respectful tone toward those scum bags.. i just read a three part series on the third reich, and it is truly scary how similar in structure and operation the wtbs is, when it comes to authoritarianism, eliminating "enemies", and instilling fear in people.. ray put into words exactly how i feel, why i feel the way i do, and made me feel good about feeling that way.. i just wanted to share these few paragraphs and see if they had the same effect on many of you!.
i now began to realize how large a measure of what i had based my entire adult life course on was just that, a mythpersistent,.
persuasive and unrealistic.

instilled into their own hands. JWs are just one of the extreme examples of totalitarianism thats around and its harmfulness
toward humanity is obviously real.

Baptism numbers decreasing?
by Mattieu inthe last 3 weekends have seen 3 circuit assemblies in victoria with over 1000 attending each circuit.
yet only 10 baptised over the last 3 weeks, including 3 last weekend.
i can remember a few years ago when only 1 bro was baptised at a 2 day convention.. its funny, when 10-20 were being baptised at each circuit assembly back in the 1980s & early 90s it was always brought out that this was a sign of jehovahs blessing upon the org.

Another problem for the WTS is that families today aren't as large as they used to be such as the baby boomers of the 50's
and 60's, with so few families being started there are less 10 to 20 year olds getting baptized which made up a majority of the number .
The age demographics are quite different in the halls these days, with the majority of the members in the 40 and older age group.
I too think the WTS is fudging the numbers to make the organization appear thriving and growing, but then again they never post the numbers
who have left, to me that would override the the numbers who get baptized.

Well what do you expect when they have been brain washed to believe they whole world is corrupt and evil except themselves.
That would F.. up just about anybody over time.
One of the reasons why I cant stand being around JWS is their over abundance of ignorance strung together with arrogance.
Ex-jws can be even more annoying because of their expressive need to do all the supposed naughty things they were held back
from doing as a JWS. It takes years for most ex-jws to develop a mind of their own and to create their own self identity due to
controlling oppression of that religion.

They have no qualms to burden people. They have their meals prepared, housecleaning provided, doctors, dentists, eye doctors, chiropractor, absolutely no bills/concerns. Also, they have their 'circle of loyalists' that adore them constantly. What a set up!! Again, its worked for them.

Let it be noted that these men have the opportunity to stay in that position as long as their minds and bodies are capable,
so essentially its a secure place to be in when these men get elderly.
When considering if this organization will continue on into the future, the realization of the money and privilege offered to these men
and the answer is plain to see.

Not more or less than any other typical high ranking JWS, its just they are aware of their status, privilege and power bestowed upon them.
Which essentially was the very reason how and why the past presidents and GB members got themselves involed as opportunists.
The male ego and character lusts for these things, its just unfortunately that the uneducated and ignorant strive and succeed in
accomplishing these desires. Call it delusions of grandeur for being a head of God's only organization on earth .......Woopee
